The NBA playoffs have been one of the most watched and most anticipated sporting events every year. This year everyone is talking about the reigning champion Miami Heat. The Heat have won the last 2 NBA championships and are trying to become the first team since the Los Angeles Lakers in the early 2000's to win 3 straight NBA titles.
Even as I am a Miami fan myself, I don't think my team will "3-peat" this year. The team to beat in this years NBA playoffs has to be the San Antonio Spurs. They have played their starters the least amount of time out of any other team, and they still have the best record in the NBA! That usually just doesn't happen. The Spurs, led by point guard Tony Parker, have ended the regular season with a record of 62-20. They play as a team, distributing the ball effectively to get every player involved.
The number 1 team in the Eastern Conference is the Indiana Pacers. They finished the regular season with 56 wins and 26 losses. Before the season the Pacers were determined to take down the reigning champs, and they have ended the season 2 games ahead of the Miami Heat.
Don't get me wrong, the road to the NBA Finals won't be easy for the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, or the Indiana Pacers, but it will be an entertaining next few weeks as the road to those NBA finals begins. Who do you think will be the team to come out on top?

The Flood: Global or Regional?
Both of these articles really are pulling me in 2 completely different directions with their opinions, but I honestly don't see enough facts to swing me one way or the other. Since I heard the story of Noah when I was about 4 years old, I have thought that the flood in Genesis 6-9 was worldwide, as in it covered the entire earth. I have not even considered thinking about it in a different way until reading these two articles.
"So God said to Noah, 'I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.'" - Genesis 6:13. In this verse God is saying that he wants "to put an end to all people"; he doesn't specifically say that he will flood the earth. The definition of the word earth, according to dictionary.com is "the surface of this planet" or "the solid matter of this planet", so God could have told the author of Genesis to write the word earth meaning the physical land only in that certain region.
I also believe that God could have told the author of the Old Testament book of Genesis to write the word earth meaning this entire planet as a whole, as that is the other meaning of the word. Truthfully speaking from my own opinion and point of view, I think that God flooded the whole earth. I mean, think about it for a minute, the earth had been formed at least several hundred years before Noah and the Ark, so the descendants of Adam and Eve could have not only moved around, but they could have moved to the other ends of the earth by then. Especially when you consider how long some people lived back then. They could have made one single journey that lasted half of their lifetime! That is why I honestly believe that the flood that God sent to put an end to all inhabitants of the earth, except Noah and his family, was over the entire earth, as in all of the land on this planet. God says that the mountains were covered with water from the flood. Mountains: plural. I still think that God flooded the earth globally, and I will always believe that.

Plagiarism Article Response
1. If this same incident occurred at TCA, and I was accused of plagiarism, then I would simply confess my wrongs to the school, unless of course I knew I was innocent. If I knew that I did it, I would admit that I did wrong because, from this article, I've learned that confessing can save a lot of trouble from the parents and administrators.
2. My parents would be upset with me, but I know they would forgive me. They would be extremely disappointed in me, but they would be ok with it in the end because they are my parents and they love me enough to forgive me when I do wrong.
3. I think that no matter who it is they should get a zero if they cheat on anything. If they say that they are innocent, then at least give them something other than a zero, because they could have just simply thought of something good to put in their project and it just sounds similar to someone else's, and you falsely accusing them gets them nowhere.
4. This story does not really affect my view on plagiarism because I still see it as wrong, but only wrong if you know that you had intentions of copying, not if you weren't trying to.
5. From this article, I have learned that plagiarism isn't just something that can get you a bad grade, but it can completely change this little town that has been arguing about this topic. THey parents think they're right, and the administrators think that they are right. The students deserved the bad grade, and the parents know that. They should just accept that fact and move on.

Lebron's Game For The Record Books
Lebron James has been known around the league for almost 11 years for his ability to score without stopping. Most games James will score in the high 20′s with a few 3′s here and there, but last night against the Bobcats? Now that was a night that the King will never forget.
Lebron just decided to GO OFF in Miami’s 124-107 win against Charlotte, finishing the game with 61 total points! His previous career high was 56 (March 20th, 2005 @ Toronto as a part of the Cavaliers), which was also the team record set by Glen Rice in 1995. Not only did Lebron score 61 points, but he did it without dunking the entire game, AND he was wearing a mask because of his nose injury sustained last week in Oklahoma City. The fact that he scored 61 points without dunking as he normally does is kind of jaw-dropping. This was also the first time James has gone a full game without dunking since early January.
Lebron didn't just score from simply shooting his average mid-range jump-shot, but instead via the 3 ball! Lebron shot 8 for 10 from behind the arch, tying his own career high for 3′s made in a game. We as the fans have gotten more and more used to him shooting his fair share of 3′s and making them, but not this amount with this much efficiency. Lebron shot 2 for 33 from the field to go along with his 8 for 10 on 3′s. He was getting whatever he wanted on almost every possession, shooting mid-range shots, closer jumpers, and driving to the hole with reckless abandon. It is safe to say that last night was most definitely the best game of Lebron’s magnificent 11 year career.
Yes, Lebron scoring 61 in a single game is something that Heat fans will probably never forget, but no one is really talking about what a GREAT night Al Jefferson had! Big Al shot 18 for 24 from the field and finished the game with 38 points and 19 rebounds! That is a great game by any big man’s standards, but for Jefferson? I think that game was just what he needed to help him progress in what has been a dismal season so far for the Bobcats. Yes, I know Charlotte is currently the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, but we’re talking about the struggling Eastern Conference. Charlotte is currently 6 games UNDER .500 and they would still be in the playoffs if the NBA season ended today. That just comes to show you how weak the East really is.
All in all, last night was a season-changing game for many reasons, It has brought the MVP race between Lebron James and Kevin Durant even closer than it already was, it proved to all of the Lebron haters that he can still put up insane numbers whenever he wants to, and it also gave Charlotte a chance to boost themselves into perhaps a higher seed in the NBA playoffs with their outstanding play from big man Al Jefferson. Will last night be a game we have to look back at come June to decide the MVP, or will either Durant or James run away with the trophy? I think that last night was a crucial night in not only Miami and Charlotte’s seasons alone, but also the entire NBA season as a whole.

Pacers-Sixers Big Deal
The trade deadline the last couple of years has been pretty boring, with not many big name players getting dealed. This years deadline looked like it was going to be the same until about 5 minutes AFTER the deadline.
The Indiana Pacers traded small-forward Danny Granger to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. I can honestly say I don’t think anyone saw this trade coming.
Danny Granger missed last season with an injury, and, prior to this past December, had only played 5 games for Indiana in the last 2 years. Nevertheless, the Pacers stayed faithful to their 9th year fan favorite. Granger has only averaged 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist per game over this season in 22 minutes per game. Not too great for the 1 time all-star. People throughout the league have been talking all year on whether he’ll come back to form or not, but I guess we’ll have to figure that out with him in a Philadelphia uniform now.
Evan Turner is the main part of this deal for Indiana. Turner is averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game this season for the Sixers in 35 minutes per game. For the Pacers, he could be a great lift off the bench, coming in as a backup for Paul George. Most of the teams in the NBA would kill for a 17 PPG bench player, ESPECIALLY at this time of the season in the Eastern Conference. Lavoy Allen is also going to the Pacers in this deal. He is averaged 5 points, 5 rebounds, & 1 assist per game so far in limited minutes. I think Lavoy Allen could be a solid backup for David West come playoff time, but Evan Turner makes this deal. I believe that Turner could give the Pacers that 1 extra piece that they need to seal 1st place in the Eastern Conference and take down the reigning champion Miami Heat.
Watch out, America, because the Pacers are leading the Eastern Conference, and I don’t think anyone, even the Heat, will stop them.

Creation vs. Evolution Debate
I strongly believe that all of this is something that is argued and debated about when it really shouldn't be. I mean, the Evolutionists don't really care if we believe in it or not, they are just trying to say that they think it is; it's not like they know any of this for a fact or anything like that. All of the believers and Creationists are the ones who should be trying to share this creation idea and truth with the Evolutionists!
The entire reason that God created us and put us on this earth was to further his kingdom. He put us here so that we could live for him and spread His word to the Gentiles and to the ends of the earth (Acts 13:47).
We were put her for that reason and that reason only; therefore, we (the believers and Creationists) should be trying to further this truth and idea that the one, true God created everything, not that over some million years period of time that we just so happened to evolve into these homo sapiens sapiens (wise wise human beings) and that the world just so happened to evolve into what it currently is in modern day.
We should be focusing on living for our almighty heavenly father instead of arguing with these Evolutionists about how the world came to be. We are wasting our time fooling with this debate! We know the truth, because we are believers and we know that God's word is the ultimate truth and only complete truth in this world that we live in. Creation happened, but we shouldn't spend all of our time trying to argue with on-believers whether it did or did not.

Oden's Return After 5 Year Absence
Miami Heat center Greg Oden played Wednesday night for the first time since December 5th, 2009. Oden has had multiple knee surgeries and has been recovering ever since. This past off-season the Heat signed him to a one-year deal just to see what he could do when healthy. He played in one preseason game for Miami with 2 points.
Greg Oden was drafted number one overall in the 2007 draft by the Portland TrailBlazers. In his two years from 2007-2009, he only played in 82 games, as a result of multiple knee injuries. After 2009, he stayed quiet and out of the NBA, slowly trying to gain his strength back. Then, in the 2013 off-season, he suddenly emerged as a free-agent center, with several NBA teams trying to sign him. The Miami Heat eventually were able to get him on a one-year deal.
On Wednesday night, the Miami Heat took on the Washington Wizards in Washington D.C.. Greg Oden was listed as active for this game, and, with Chris “Birdman” Anderson out with an injury, Oden had a good chance to earn his first minutes of the season. As it turns out, Oden DID get to play his first minutes of the season, first eight minutes, that is. Eight minutes is not bad for a guy that hasn’t played in 5 years. Oden scored his first points of the year in the second quarter with this pretty awesome put-back dunk : http://youtu.be/aFthAbEUUb4 . Oden finished with 6 points and 2 rebounds while going 2 for 3 from the field and 2 for 2 from the free-throw line in his mere eight minutes of play.
Oden could have a big impact for Miami this year. Not only does he provide a true center down low , but he helps the Heat by moving Chris Bosh back to his natural position of power forward. This will help Bosh to improve his already stellar season thus far. All I'm saying is, watch out for the Heat because they will soon have another consistent post presence to help them try for that 3rd straight title!
